We had a wonderful anniversary stay in Tankardstown, cottage was very comfortable, food was wonderful, staff very friendly and helpful, if I had one criticism, it would be that the 4 o'clock check in, is way too late, and it certainly would have encouraged me to use spa etc if we had been able to check in earlier.

The hotel is lovely in every aspect. Glowing fireplaces and lighted candles made it especially welcoming and warm on a cold, rainy day. The staff at Reception took care to meet every need. Our room was elegant and cozy, with every detail perfect. The breakfast was expertly prepared, and served with warmth and care. We liked having the great dog of the house, Bruce, accompanying us on our walk of the premises. The landscape all around is lovely, with rabbits and partridges spotted in the field. Waking up in the morning to the sounds of songbirds in a quiet field gave us a true feeling of being on vacation. We had dinner at Brabazon and tried the tasting menu, along with the preselected wines to accompany each course. This was one of the finest meals we have ever enjoyed. Every dish had multiple flavor elements, presented beautifully, each dish a work of art and totally delicious, using an unbelievable variety of ingredients. The sommelier and chef were delightful to meet. The entire experience was the highlight of our vacation. Thank you!
